WuXi AppTec Senior VP to Speak on Gene Therapy Panel at 2017 Life Sciences Future Conference
On September 19, Felix Hsu, Sr. Vice President / Head of U.S. Business Unit for WuXi AppTec, will share his perspective on the evolving gene therapy industry during a panel discussion of leading experts at the 2017 Life Sciences Future conference in Philadelphia.
By integrating testing and manufacturing services, WuXi AppTec enables its clients to bring gene therapy products to market faster. As such, speed to market and predictability has been the focus of Mr. Hsu’s tenure since arriving at WuXi in 2009. Prior to his current role, he spent more than 20 years in various leadership positions at top medical device and pharmaceutical organizations.
Titled “From the Heart of Cellacon Valley,” the panel discussion features the lineup of Mr. Hsu; Adrian Rawcliffe, Chief Financial Officer Adaptimmune; Jeff Marrazzo, Chief Executive Officer Spark Therapeutics; and Jessica Imrie, Head of Strategy and Operations for Cell and Gene Therapy within Rare Diseases GSK. Moderated by 6ABC’s Health and Medical Reporter, Ali Gorman, the panel will discuss topics ranging from the current state of gene therapies, to how future initiatives will shape the evolution of the biopharmaceutical industry, and the impact advanced therapies have on patient lives.
“WuXi AppTec is committed to growing our businesses and meeting our vision ‘to enable every drug so it can be made and every disease so it can be treated’,” said Felix Hsu, Sr. Vice President / Head of U.S. Business Unit. “We firmly believe that personalized treatment is the future for the healthcare industry. Cell and gene therapy (Advanced Therapies) are part of the future of personalized treatment, and represent the next major wave of therapeutic treatments. WuXi is excited and committed to being a major player in this market. One particularly exciting aspect of these products is that a number of these products represent potential cures and not just treatments.”
